We are entering one of the hottest months of the year. Be on the lookout for Heat-Related Illnesses such as heat stroke, exhaustion, cramps, and rash. And, as things get hotter, here are some Summer Heat Safety tips on how to beat the heat.
Know the Signs of Heat-Related Illness
Be on the lookout for the following conditions and symptoms:
Heat Stroke
- No sweating
- Confusion
- Slurred speech
- Agitation
- Red, hot, dry skin
- Very high body temperature
Heat Exhaustion
- Weakness
- Headache
- Nausea / vomiting
- Excessive Sweating
- Fast heart rate
- Thirst
Heat Cramps
- Muscle spasms
- Pain (usually in the abdomen, arms, or legs)
- Heavy sweating
- Fatigue
Heat Rash
- Itchiness
- Clusters of red bumps
- Often Appears on the neck, upper chest, folds of skin

Here’s how to beat the heat this summer:
