ER is currently the primary responder to the USEPA, providing multiple emergency and rapid response services for incidents covering 42 states across the country. These competitively awarded long-term contracts have an approximate value of $1.99B. Each of these contracts requires immediate response to emergency and time-critical hazardous waste situations where human health or the environment is threatened. ER routinely is tasked to remediate unstable or unsafe hazardous waste sites, as well as respond to local, regional and national emergencies as brought on by national disasters, terrorist events, chemical releases, and oil spills.
ER is also prime contractor, as part of a joint venture agreement, providing environmental dredging, material handling and technical expertise in support of the cleanup of the Great Lakes as led by the Great Lakes National Program Office (GLNPO). As such, we have been awarded two contracts for over $450M of sediment remediation since 2011, GLNPO Cleanup Services I & II.
Additionally, ER holds the contract for the State of Missouri Department of Natural Resource Hazardous Substance Cleanup and Disposal as well as nationwide contracts with the United States Coast Guard.
History With The USEPA
ER has managed and executed more than 2,000 projects for the USEPA. These projects include emergency response, large multi-phased planned remediation projects, residential excavation / restoration projects, mine site remediation, facility demolition / decontamination and remediation / restoration services in support of nearly all categories of hazardous wastes.
History With The USACE
We were also prime contractor to USACE for remediation of Libby, Montana. Libby, a National Priorities List (NPL) site grossly contaminated with asbestos, was the first site ever to be declared a Public Health Emergency by USEPA. ER was the primary remediation contractor onsite in Libby from 2002 to 2019, and removed over one million cubic yards of contaminated soils from residential and public properties. Additionally, ER decontaminated home interiors, removed insulations containing vermiculite from attic spaces, and responded to emergency releases of potentially contaminated materials.
